5 People Question 2

The quote, "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind," to me means that, even though we don't realize it, we have an impact on the lives of everyone we come across. One of our little accidents could cause someone around us their life. On the contrary, something positive we do can also effect others in a good way for years to come.

You need to choose one line or group of lines that you've read so far in the novel and tell us what you think it means.  You then have to respond to at least THREE of your classmates' posts.

  1. Every hurt he'd ever suffered, every ache he'd ever endured-it was all as gone as an expired breath. He could not feel agony. He could not feel sadness. I think this means that once his life ended all of his hurt and bad feelings had vanished. He can now be happy with no hurt in his new life.

  2. Eddie didn't believe that "people know when their going to die". He believed that when it's a persons time to die, it's just their time to die. He also thinks about when people die if their last words were good or bad.

    1. I agree, he does think that. He was wrong because he didn't know when he was going to die.

  3. "Every life has one true-love snapshot."
I think Eddie means that we all have that one person we love and will always have a picture of them in our memory and a place in our heart. He still remembers Marguerite and the snap shot that he has of her.

    2. I think that's very true because when you get a strong feeling for someone you always have that image of them inside your head.

  5. She would hold his hand and tell him God is proud of him for being a good boy on his birthday, and that will make the world feel right-side up again.
i think these would be great words of encouragement for anyone to make themselves feel proud of themselves. he was scared but stayed calm and it took a lot out of him so to me it would seem like a good thing to get a good feeling from something like that.
