Assignment 8
Again and again Campbell gives different, often laughable explanations for his service dog, Judge. He tells people he has an iron lung, that he has SARS, that he is color-blind. These answers serve as diversions, intended to point other characters, as well as the reader, away from the truth, and they act as one of the most prominent examples in the novel of a character concealing his feelings and motivations. We don't yet know what the real reason for the dog. What are your ideas? You only have to give phrase answers on this one. You got lucky!
I think he might have a heart problem because a lot of people I know have service dogs for that very reason.
ReplyDeletei think he is lonely to and that dog is his only true friend and doesnt wanna stray away from his only friend. him and they dog have a nice relationship.
ReplyDeleteCampbell probably doesn't want anyone to know his real weakness because they will be devistated or overly concerned. He doesn't seem like the kind of person who really wants the simpathy card.

DeleteHe probably doesnt have anyone in his life so he just has a dog. I think he is lyin about his diseases. they got a good relationship though.

ReplyDeleteIt is probably for detecting seizures and when he'll do the floppy croppy on the ground
ReplyDeletei bet he says he has an iron lung because maybe he doesnt want to tell anybody why he needs the dog maybe he ahs seizures and the dog is trained by helping him through the seizures
ReplyDeleteI read ahead and I don't want to ruin it for other people but I think he just doesn't want people to know why Judge is with him. He is a very secrative person.
